The Historic Landmark Preservation Committee recommends certain sites, districts, areas, buildings or structures to be designated as historical.
The Historical Landmark Preservation Committee:
Reviews applications for Certificate of Appropriateness in an open public hearing process and, through a majority vote, either approves or denies the application.
Recommends conferral of recognition upon the owners of landmarks or properties within districts by means of plaques.
Increases public awareness of the value of historic, cultural, and architectural preservation.
7 Members – 1 member from an institution authorized to make home loans and at least 1 real estate agent.
2 Alternate members
Members and alternates must be residents of the city.
*Each committee member shall serve on at least one of the following sub-committees: guidelines and standards review, community involvement and marketing, or expansion, preservation, and revitalization.
