No, the City does not add fluoride to our treated water at this time. Small amounts of naturally occurring fluoride have been found in the city's water sources: Lake Wright Patman: less than 0.1 milligrams per part (mg/1,) and Lake Millwood: less than 0.2 mg/1.

Our water hardness averages 83 milligrams per liter (mg/L.) Hardness between 61 mg/L and 150 mg/L is considered moderately hard.

Our water in Texarkana comes from two water sources: Lake Wright Patman, and Lake Millwood.

4. Is the water tested?

Absolutely. Water treatment staff tests for quality control 24 hours / day. The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) and the Arkansas Department of Health (ADH) also test on a regular basis.
