How many Park Pavilions are available to rent for parties or gatherings?: We have 3 pavilions located at Spring Lake Park, 2 pavilions at Grady T. Wallace Park, 1 pavilion at Bringle Lake West, 1 pavilion at Karrh Park, 1 pavilion at Bell Park, and 1 pavilion at Scott Joplin Park.

1. What are the Parks Hours in Texarkana, Texas?: All Texarkana, Texas Parks close at 10:00 PM with the exception of the following: Kidtopia Park, Bringle Lake Wilderness Area and Bringle Lake Park East, will close at sundown.

2. How many parks are located in the City of Texarkana, Texas?: We have a total of 13 parks covering over 500 acres. For a complete listing of parks, facilities, and locations please go to the Quick Links on our Parks homepage and click on Parks Finder.

3. How many Park Pavilions are available to rent for parties or gatherings?: We have 3 pavilions located at Spring Lake Park, 2 pavilions at Grady T. Wallace Park, 1 pavilion at Bringle Lake West, 1 pavilion at Karrh Park, 1 pavilion at Bell Park, and 1 pavilion at Scott Joplin Park.

4. Are we responsible for the Texarkana, Arkansas Parks and Recreation programs and facilities?: No, we are only responsible for the Texarkana, Texas Parks & Recreation programs and facilities.

5. Is fishing allowed at the City Park Lakes? Is a license required?: Yes, Texas resident and non-residents are required to purchase a fishing license.
Exceptions:
Texas residents born BEFORE January 1, 1931 are exempt from the fishing license requirement and resident and non-resident youth under the age of 17 do not need a fishing license. Mentally disabled persons who are engaged in recreational fishing under supervision as part of medically approved therapy and mentally disabled persons fishing under the direct supervision of a licensed angler who is a family member or has permission from the family to take the mentally disabled person fishing.

6. Are there length and limit regulations for fishing at City Park Lakes?: Yes, Bag and length limits apply to all public fresh waters for more information please go to Quick Links on our homepage and click on the Texas Parks & Wildlife.

7. Are there boating/swimming regulations at Bringle Lake?: Yes, the waters of Bringle Lake are declared to be a "No-Wake" Zone. It shall be unlawful for any person to operate a boat upon Bringle Lake in a manner or at a headway speed that creates a swell or wake. It shall be unlawful for any person to jet ski, water ski, bathe, swim, or to wash any article of any character in the water of Bringle Lake.

8. Are there fishing regulations at Bringle Lake?: Yes, it shall be unlawful for any person to fish in Bringle Lake after sunset or before sunrise. No night fishing shall be allowed.

9. What is the Friends of Texarkana Parks?: The Friends of Texarkana Parks is a non-profit 501c3 volunteer group interested in preserving, developing, and maintaining parks in Texarkana. The Friends of Texarkana Parks work in conjunction with the City of Texarkana, Texas Parks & Recreation Department in its efforts to provide recreational opportunities and maintaining park facilities. 10. When is the Splash Pad open for operation?: The Splash Pad will generally be in operation from Memorial Day Weekend to Labor Day Weekend. The daily operating hours will be from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM, Sunday through Saturday. This is subject to change due to weather conditions, parks special events and maintenance.
