All dogs, cats, and ferrets living inside the city limits of Texarkana, Texas are required by law to be registered with the city. Bring a copy of your pet's rabies certificate to the Environmental Services Unit at 220 Texas Blvd Room 301. To obtain a City pet license, the fees are: $10.00 for altered animal, $40.00 for unaltered animal; however failure to do so may result in a fine in Municipal Court.

No. Dogs cannot be secured with a cable, chain, or run of any type. A dog must be contained in an enclosure capable of securing the dog. Anytime a dog is outside it's enclosure, the dog must be on a leash held by a person capable of controlling the dog.
